POLICY

Training Policies & Code of Conduct

Welcome to SAFENESS. We are committed to delivering high-quality, internationally accredited health, safety and environmental (HSE) training in a professional, respectful and inclusive environment. The following policies apply to everyone who registers for, attends, or accesses our courses, examinations and learning materials.

1. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct
  • Discrimination & Harassment: Any behaviour that promotes hatred, discrimination, harassment or violence against a person or group — on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, disability or any other characteristic — is strictly prohibited.
  • Illegal or Harmful Activities: Using our courses, platforms or communications to promote illegal activities, violence, or harm to oneself or others is not permitted.
  • Inappropriate Material: Sharing content that is offensive, obscene or otherwise inappropriate for a professional training environment is prohibited.
2. Copyright & Intellectual Property
  • Course Materials: All training materials, slides, handbooks and resources provided by SAFENESS — and by the awarding bodies (NEBOSH, IWCF, IADC, IRCA, STI) — are protected by copyright. They may not be copied, recorded, redistributed or resold without prior written authorisation.
  • Your Own Work: Participants retain ownership of their own original assignments and are expected to reference third-party sources correctly.
3. Examination & Academic Integrity
  • Malpractice & Cheating: Plagiarism, collusion, cheating or any form of examination malpractice is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the relevant awarding body, which may invalidate results.
  • Honest Work: Assessments and assignments must be the participant’s own work, with credible sources cited where required.
4. Participant Conduct
  • Respectful Behaviour: Participants, trainers and staff are expected to treat one another with respect and courtesy. Bullying, harassment or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Health & Safety: Participants must follow all safety instructions and venue or online-classroom rules while attending a SAFENESS course.
5. Reporting Concerns

If you become aware of any conduct that breaches these policies — including examination malpractice or harassment — please report it to the SAFENESS team without delay. All reports are treated seriously and handled confidentially.

6. Enforcement

Breaches of these policies may lead to appropriate action, including a formal warning, removal from a course or examination without refund, and, where relevant, notification of the awarding body — depending on the seriousness of the breach.

7. Contact Us

If you have any questions about these policies, please contact the SAFENESS team through our Contact page and we will be happy to help.
